Welcome to the College of Education and Behavioral & Social Sciences – home to a variety of exciting programs in Education, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Criminology and more!
There are myriad ways to think, engage and contribute to major social institutions. Examine how people interact in and experience families, the economy and more. Prepare yourself to heal clients in a clinical practice, or shape learners of all ages online or in a classroom.
Identify lithics, or stone tools, and rock art on an archaeological dig in New Mexico; intern at an NGO in Brussels; or learn side-by-side with an incarcerated student at MCI Framingham through our Inside-Out Program. Our Social and Behavioral Science programs make these paths possible.
Other paths lead to the classroom. We have a long history of providing undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and graduate programs leading to Initial and Professional educator licensure in Massachusetts. We are extremely proud that we were the first public teacher’s college in the nation when we were founded in 1839. We’re still among the best in preparing teachers, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
